The Affair – Tamil Short film Review

The Affair – Tamil Short film Review – The Affair is a Tamil short film released in 2016.  A 52-year-old man is having an affair with a girl half his age and his grown up children comes to know about it. How do they react is the plot of The Affair.

After Unakkae Uyiranen and Haiku Nee director Surrya Narayanan and the team has come up with yet another Tamil short film The Affair. The screenplay is very engaging right from the first frame. The length of the movie is just right to create the impact needed. The plot deals with something that is very intense in human emotions. The treatment of the screenplay keeps it simple and nonchalant which makes it a pleasure to watch.

The casting of the movie is perfect. Livingston and Anupama have performed very well. Anupama has performed so well and conveyed a lot without having to utter a dialog. The background score matches the mood and tempo of the movie well. The use of extreme close-up shots helps in maintaining the intense mood of the movie. Hardly you get to see the environment but for a few shots but still understand where these characters reside. It is done brilliantly.

High Points: The high point of the movie is the exchange of dialogues between the father and the daughter. For me, this shot sums up the plot well. Apart from this, the casting, screenplay, visuals, and background score have been done well.

Low Points: Not much low points to talk about 🙂

Overall The Affair is very soulful at its core and deals with human emotions in a nonchalant way. A tight screenplay and power packed performances make it a must watch. Watch it definitely when this releases for public view. Kudos to the team for pulling out such a soulful movie.

Guest Post: How to Watch Anything, Anywhere

About the Author: Caroline is an internet security and entertainment specialist. While at first glance, these things might not appear to go together, they frequently overlap. To see how this plays out, check out her article on SecureThoughts.com about how to watch American Netflix.

There’s nothing more bothersome than not being able to watch what you want, when you want. Nearly everyone has encountered a time when they’ve stumbled upon a blocked video here or there or found that they can’t find any good movies playing on TV when they’re ready to kick back and relax to a great film. Thankfully, RajaReviews.com has been kind enough to allow me to share some tips so you too can watch anything, anywhere. Before you begin watching, don’t forget to check out these reviews of some of these must-watch movies.

It’s not always easy to be able to find a good selection of movies or TV shows to watch when you’re traveling. But with tablets and smartphones getting larger, the ability to watch videos while on the go is becoming more sought after. Unfortunately for some travelers, their options may be really limited, mobile device or not.

Most streaming services use geo-restriction, meaning that you may not be able to access every video they have to offer, especially if you’re traveling outside of the country. With services like Netflix, the selection is often specific to the country you live in, and up until recently, they didn’t even allow anyone to use their services outside of the United States.

So how can you watch anything, anywhere, bypassing geo-restrictions when necessary?

A Virtual Private Network

The key to getting past those geo-restrictions is a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN is a remote server that encrypts your internet connection and hides your IP address (which is used to determine your location). By using a VPN service, you can select from a list of different locations and connect to the server located in that particular area.

When online, you will appear as though you’re located where the remote server is, allowing you to unblock geo-restricted content. For example, if you want to watch American Netflix, you’ll simply connect to one of the servers located in the United States before you access Netflix’s site. The same goes for any other website that you might want to unblock.

An additional bonus to using a VPN service is that not only will it allow you to watch videos that would typically be blocked, but it’ll also secure your connection while doing so and allow you to protect your privacy while using the internet.

Stream

There are several streaming services available that can be accessed on your mobile devices so chances are you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for on one of them. You can also use some of them on your game consoles or smart TV. Netflix is arguably one of the best services for streaming movies, and for a low price, it’s worth subscribing to. You’re able to watch in high definition with closed captions (if you prefer), and it’s entirely commercial free.

They also have a wide selection of movies, categorizing them into genres and subgenres so you can easily find a move that you’re in the mood for. Netflix also has some TV series on hand, though it’s unlikely you’ll find the most recent episodes (Hulu is a better option for that). Like most streaming services though, the content varies, and it changes regularly.

There are other options than Netflix for streaming too, many of which are also affordable and worthwhile.

Hulu

Like Netflix, Hulu can be used on a variety of different devices. Their price is similar, but unlike Netflix, they haven’t decided to provide services to any countries other than the United States and Japan. You’ll still need a VPN for Hulu if you live outside of their service areas, but the library of movies they offer to their subscribers is rather impressive considering that they didn’t have many to offer in the past.

Hulu is especially useful for those who would like to keep up with TV shows though, as they have episodes of some series available the day after they premiere on cable TV.

YouTube

YouTube has a variety of movies you can watch from your mobile device, and their app makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. You can also access YouTube on game consoles and smart TVs, making it a good option for streaming. Movies are available; though many of them will require you pay to view them.

On a lucky occasion, you might be able to find a couple of movies to stream for free on YouTube, though they generally try to remove those. Overall, it’s still worth searching through, and it offers some original content that’s sure to entertain you when you don’t quite have enough time to watch an entire movie.

Flixpack

There’s also Flixpack, a relatively new service that allows you read and share reviews about films and discover things you might not otherwise watch. It’s a great place to find links to stream free stuff on YouTube or Vimeo (complete with the reviews, of course). Their content encompasses mostly Indian and English movies and had more selections than you can imagine, so check it out.

Other Options

There are, of course, many other streaming services available too, some of which you might already have access to! If you subscribe to cable TV, your service provider might offer online streaming from their website or an app on your mobile device.

Though Netflix, Hulu and YouTube are some of the most popular around the globe (despite their restrictions), why not access as much of a variety as possible? Hulu will, of course, be a great place to stream American films and TV shows, but if you’re looking for other movies, this list of streaming services is likely to be helpful.

Watching anything, anywhere can be somewhat of a challenge at times, but with a little searching, you’re certain to find what you’re looking for. Best of all, you will be able to access the whole internet if you use a VPN service (so you won’t have to stick to censored material or limit your viewing options). With a smartphone or tablet on hand and the right tools, you’ll be on your way to watching anything, anywhere in no time!

Do you have a favorite streaming service that you use to watch movies on the go? Let us know about it in the comments section.

How Hitchcock altered ideas on Censorship

How Hitchcock altered ideas on Censorship

For the past few days, the movie Udta Punjab produced by Anurag Kashyap is trending for the reason that it is being demanded to make unreasonable cuts by the censor board. Well, Mr. Kashyap said it is his fight and he would fight for it. I sincerely hope he wins. In this week’s Friday Fundas, I would like to highlight how the legendary director Alfred Hitchcock had constantly challenged the censor board in many ridiculous ways, broke many of their rules and in effect changed the idea of Censorship.

Out of the many instances, two of Hitchcock’s movies are still very popular for the kind of controversies they evoked with the Censorship. Notorious released in 1946 starred Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. The signature scene in the movie is the kissing scene between Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Hitchcock wanted to shoot a two and half minute kissing scene. But the censor board at that time allowed only three seconds long kissing scene. In order to achieve what he wanted, he had interrupted the scene every three seconds to pass the movie through the three-second rule in the production code.

The movie Psycho which he had made in 1960 evoked more controversies right from the production stage. You could watch the movie Hitchcock or read the book “Alfred Hitchcock and the making of Psycho” written by Stephen Rebello to learn more about it. Out of the many controversial scenes, there was a scene in which the toilet is shown with visible notes being flushed. Till that date, none of the movies had shown a toilet in the movie and censor board initially rejected it and eventually had to give in as there was hardly any logic behind it. The shower scene is the money shot for the movie. Hitchcock knew he would be ridiculed by the censor board. So he had deliberately made it more violent so that he had negotiated with the board to arrive at the output he wanted. The board also had objection over the opening scene of the movie. He negotiated with them that he would change the scene and reshoot it provided they allow him to keep the shower scene. He also had said he would reshoot with the censor board members on the set under their advice. As they did not turn up for the reshoot the scene remained.

Post the release of Psycho the censor board was never the same again. The movie relaxed many of the censorship rules giving more freedom to the filmmakers.

Action Hero Biju Review

Action Hero Biju Review – Action Hero Biju is a Malayalam drama film released in 2016. The story revolves around the daily life of a local town sub-inspector in Kerala.

The movies title and trailer are a bit misleading for it to be a typical commercial cop drama. However the tagline “A ride with a police officer” is a more apt title. Nivin Pauly had switched gears after the blockbuster Premam to do a realistic cop drama. The word realistic is key because the movie is very simple and revolves around the day to day life of a cop. After watching the movie for 140 minutes you get a feeling of having been a spectator in a police station. You see the police officer trying to resolve the cases, adamant to not to submit before power, deal with emotional situations with a straight face as it is a routine, enjoy the music played by a convict. The conflicts are not dramatic like any other movie. Barring the last fight sequence, the movie is a sincere attempt to pay tribute to the cops.

The best part of the movie is the screenplay. It is almost like a theater where the next set of characters arrive to perform on the stage once the previous ones are done. Here the police station is like a stage. You see a plethora of characters including a local drug dealer, a stalker, a nuisance creator in public, a separated couple, a human right activist, a spoilt rich man to mention a few. Each of the characters adds an interesting facet to the narration. In many parts, you see parallel tracks going on a different case and each of them gets a logical resolution. The start of the movie creates the necessary suspense needed to glue the audience to the seat.

High Points: A sincere screenplay without any frills, Nivin Pauly’s performance as sub-inspector Biju, character sketches in various cases.

Low Points: I want to leave this blank to laud the effort of an honest film.

Overall Action Hero Biju is a movie for all movie buffs. The makers have proved how you can make an interesting movie without falling into the fray of items forced in for commercial reasons. I would recommend this to be a Must watch for the sincere script.

Ko 2 Review

Ko 2 Review – Ko 2 is a Tamil political thriller released in 2016. Kumaran kidnaps the chief minister f the state. His demands are very peculiar in nature to begin with.

Making it a sequel to Ko seems to  be an after thought. They seem to have introduced some subtle references in the background. Apart from this there is absolutely no connect between the two. Bobby Simha has struggled to carry forward an already sluggish screenplay. Prakash raj and Nasser have very limited scope in the movie.

The serious scenes in the movie look comical while the comedy portions make you serious. The movie starts with an interesting premise but falls into the trap of creating a justification so strong to connect with the audience. The justification given is not connected to the initial premise of the movie and there is absolutely no foreshadowing on what the audience are supposed to expect. In the end, the movie that should have created a social impact ends up being a tale of personal vengeance.

The old Tamil movies Paalam starring Murali and Director Cheran’s Desiyageetham has been built on the same premise and were engaging throughout. The reason is their screenplay stayed core to the plot and the connect between the protagonists’ cause and the audience had been established well. Ko 2 fails to do that.

High points: The only high point of the movie has been the initial premise.

Low points: The screenplay is too loose and sways too much. Lack of utilization of Prakashraj and Nasser. Lack of proper research on the subject and no connect with the audience.

Overall I felt this might have been the movie Karthik (played by Siddarth) in Jigarthanda was making where Assault Kumar becomes Azhuguni Kumar.  Bobby Simha’s character’s demand to the abducted chief minister seems like “Teacher avan en pencila thirudeetaan” tone.

Idhu Namma Aalu Review

Idhu Namma Aalu Review – Idhu Namma Aalu is a Tamil romantic comedy released in 2016. Shiva falls in love with Myla at first sight when their parents arrange their meeting for prospective bride and groom. But Shiva has a past break up with Myla’s friend Priya. Will they be able to get together is the plot of Idhu Namma Aalu.

Finally, Idhu Namma Aalu sees the light after so many controversies and obstacles.  Any movie that is been in talks for so long diminishes in product value. Despite that Idhu Namma Aalu did fairly keep the interest with the movie lovers for the star cast it had. Bright and colorful visuals. STR and Nayantara coming together after Vallavan. Andrea playing the role of a third heroine. All these made it into an attractive package. The movie does score well in comedy thanks to Soori. Despite that, the screenplay lacks the punch for it to make a full-length movie. The lack of a proper core conflict makes one yawn through the proceedings.

The sequence wherein the to be wed people speak over the phone for hours ignoring their friends is hilarious and does happen a lot in reality. But giving that more than 15 min screen time is a bit too dragging.

High Points: The star cast, comedy

Low Points: Lack of core conflict in the movie, Until the last twenty minutes there is nothing that would glue the audience to the seat.

Overall Idhu Namma Aalu does have its moments but very few to make it into a full-length feature film. But for the star cast, there is nothing much to look forward to.

Master class with Mani Ratnam

Master class with Mani Ratnam

I had the extreme privilege to attend the master class with my favorite director Mani Ratnam during Bangalore International Film Festival 2016 in February. As much have been written about it then by the press I had not spent time in penning down my thoughts. Yesterday was his birthday and I thought  this is a right time to share some of the key takeaways from his session. Instead of giving an account of how the whole conversation went I would like to highlight the 3 key takeaways for aspiring filmmakers as shared by the ace director himself.  Here is this week’s Friday Fundas

The masterclass to some extent has been a fanfare more than a discussion for the popularity he has.  Amidst of all that there had been few gems and very practical advice that would be useful for filmmakers.

  1. Assistant Direction vs directing Short Film

Gone are the days where you had to serve as an assistant director to learn about film-making then go on to become a director. He said you learn a lot more in making short films than being an assistant director. The reason is in making of short films you are exposed to the whole project as compared to being an assistant director where you get a partial view into a large project.

2. Character evolves through collaboration between the actor and director

When you write a script you develop a character. This evolves and adds new dimensions as the actor gets into the shoes of the character. The end result of a character is the healthy collaboration between actor and the director to let it evolve and become real. Good actors are key to bring the characters to life.

3. Don’t procrastinate writing a screenplay

Everyone wants to make a movie but they often delay creating the screenplay. As much as this is delayed so will the movie. Keep a daily target for completing the script and follow it religiously.

Hope you found this useful. Leave your comments if you had further thoughts on this.

Guest Post: Sarabjit Review

Guest Post: Sarabjit Review

Guest Post – This review is written by Ritu Verma working as part of SnapperBazaar

When the trailer of Sarbjit was released, people were really excited to know about the life of an unfortunate Punjabi who drunkenly ambled across his field to cross the Indo-Pak border which lead into his dreadful journey of torture and death. While the audience expected to see his ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’ song transform into blood cuddling cries and whines, the movie showcased his sister’s character more often. Even the poster had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead and the expected main lead, Randeep Hooda, was shown in her shadows.

Sarbjit was ruthlessly beaten and tortured after being caught by the Pakistani police force who suspected him of being an Indian terrorist named Ranjit. He was drowned in water, left in a room full of rats who scrawled all over him, locked in a box and many more unspeakable acts of torture were done to him. While he was suffering in the prison, his sister Dalbir (Aishwarya) and wife Sukh (Richa Chaddha) struggled to get him back to India. Both of their efforts went in vain when officials of both countries did not pay much heed to their demands. The result being, an innocent Indian subjected to numerous mental and physical tortures and finally a merciless death.

Randeep’s performance is the sole thing that might make the movie ‘paisa vasool’. But less spotlight on him and more on Aish has lead into poor collections of the movie. The acting of the all the three leads is appreciable. The sorrow and pain in Sarbjit’s character was beautifully portrayed by Randeep and Aish and Sukh successfully managed to illustrate the pain of hopeful loved ones wishing to see their beloved brother and husband beautifully. The makeup and costumes were also up to the mark. The songs of the movie were soothing and appropriate for the storyline. Overall it is a good watch.

24 Review

24 Review – 24 is a Tamil science fiction thriller released in 2016. A scientist named Sethuraman invents a time travel watch.  His twin brother Athreya after the watch and kills him. But before he dies Sethuraman sends  his infant son and the watch in a train.  Was Athreya able to get his watch back? what happened to Sethuraman’s son?… is the rest of the story.

The plot had a very interesting premise that has not been handled in Tamil cinema so much. The biggest positive of the movie is the plot and the belief of the makers in making this into a full-length movie. The production quality is very good. The visuals and frame construction are well done. The character of Athreya has come out well and Suriya has done it well. There are brilliant moments in the movie. The initial chase sequence, the interval block and the sequence in which Mani (Sethuraman’s son) learns the capabilities of the watch.

The biggest weak point in the movie is the screenplay. It is a big let down. But for 45 minutes the movie seizes to be a Sci-Fi thriller and sets its course to become a romantic comedy movie. I felt I was watching a totally different movie. The entire angle of Samantha and her family seem to be force fitted into the screenplay to let the movie go forward. An ensemble of actors in Samantha’s family was largely underutilized including Girish Karnad. The second weak point is the dialogue. Seems like the makers were too carried away to make Athreya’s dialogues perfect that they did not have time to polish other’s dialogues. There are a lot of sequences where the same dialogue is repeated too often and causes displeasure. In particular, the romance portion between Samantha and Suriya the dialogues are way too off.

High Points: The plot involving time travel, Production quality, costumes and Art design. The initial chase sequence. Suriya’s performance. The sequence where Suriya learns about the capabilities of the watch. A R Rahman’s score makes it very pleasant.

Low Points: Screenplay is a big let down. Repeated dialogues make it uninteresting. Weak characterization as only time has been spent on building Athreya’s character. Overload of characters without much screentime. Very less time spent on Sci-Fi genre.

Overall 24 ends up to be a wanna be Sci-Fi thriller that only entices in parts. If I had the watch I would go back in time and not book the tickets for the movie rather wait for it to be screened on TV.

Jacobinte Swargarajyam Review

Jacobinte Swargarajyam Review – Jacobinte Swargarajyam is Malayalam family drama released in 2016. Jacob lives a very happy life with his family in Dubai. But as one of his business partner cheats him he has to flee to Liberia to avoid getting arrested and his son Jerry has to step in to pull the family out of crisis.

The movie is based on a true story. Director Vineeth Sreenivasan has attempted honestly to portray this as a family entertainer on screen. His effort needs to be lauded. The movie begins with sequences that are loaded with too many positives that it starts to become a cloying in some time. However once the characters are faced with the core problem it becomes very engaging.

Off late there are very less number of movies based on core family values are getting released. It was once very popular in the South film industry when likes of director Visu and V.Shekhar were making movies. It is definitely refreshing to see a movie built on family values after a long time. And to everyone’s surprise, it still works well with the audience.

The first half of the movie belongs to Renji Panicker and his character is built very well in front of the audience. Nivin Pauly has a lot of scope in the second half. This movie is in quiet contrast to Premam for Nivin Pauly, where he has to underplay for his character and does not bring out his heroism. Even in the scene where he and his brother pick a fight with the neighbor Nivin stays at the side to watch it. This is so true to the definition of the Jerry’s character being played. Nivin, stay like this forever and don’t fall into the fray of becoming a mass hero who is only destined to bash bad guys. Lakshmi Ramakrishnan has a very powerful role to play in the movie as well. She is the portrayal of woman power in the movie.

High Points: The movie based on a true incident, a plot revolving around core family values, Performance from Renji Panicker.

Low Points: Cloying screenplay at the first 20 minutes or so.

There are lot of positives in Jacob’s kingdom of heaven. Go with your family and you would enjoy this one more.

Theri Review

Theri Review – Theri is a Tamil action film released in 2016. Joseph Kuruvilla lives with his daughter in a remote Kerala Village. He always stays away from fights or disputes. But circumstances lead him to pick up a tiff with the local don and in the course his original identity Vijaykumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police  is exposed.

Vijay has gone back to his comfort zone after his experimentation with fantasy adventure Puli. This time, he has joined hands with director Atlee after his successful first venture Raja Rani. When a successful filmmaker gets to direct a successful mass hero there is a huge burden to please the fans of the star. Only a few directors like Shankar, Mani Ratnam have been able to stay focused on the script and deliver an appealing product both to the fans and general audience. Atlee doesn’t fall into that category. He has struggled to find his story in the commercial entertainer. In the end, it happens to be an out and out Vijay’s mass masala movie which has all the minimum guarantee elements for success but would be a forgettable one in the long run.

The movie reminds one of many blockbusters in Kollywood and Hollywood. It has influence from Baasha. Baasha seems to be a milestone for Kollywood like how The Godfather is for Hollywood. It is still inspiring movie makers. Then there are influences from Yennai Arindhal and the directors own Raja Rani and finally, there are glimpses of The Dark Knight Trilogy. In the scenes which mimic the dark knight movies, you will find Vijay modulating his voice as well like Batman :). If you have seen all these movies and is not a Vijay fan then you won’t find anything appealing in the movie.  If you are an ardent Vijay fan then there are more opportunities for you to whistle throughout.

For me, the best part of the movie is the romance portion between Vijay and Samantha. It does bring a different face of Vijay which we don’t get to see much. He tries to be a hero who can also cry just out of emotion. That’s new for a mass hero movie. The comedy during these portions has also turned out well. Where he describes the outcome of the fight before fighting is definitely enjoyable. Atlee’s core strength is in this area which he had utilized well in Raja Rani. Mottai Rajendran has a new role of being a sidekick to the heroes previously in Vedalam and now in Theri. I personally would like to see him as a fearsome Villain or in comic roles like Ghost Gopal Varma than seeing him flattering the hero. The biggest surprise of the movie is Director Mahendran donning the role of the Villain. Years of experience is seen in his acting. I would have loved a build-up portion for the villain rather than him just jumping in and only targeting Vijay.

High Points: The romance portion between Vijay and Samantha, Visuals and production quality, Comedy sequences in the flashback, Director Mahendran playing Villain.

Low Points: The overall movie might only appeal to hardcore Vijay fans as they have been generous in creating masala elements.

Overall Theri is created to appeal to the Vijay fans worldwide. It just increases Vijay’s mass masala template movies by one rather than standing out. If you are not a Vijay fan then you can watch it when played on TV.

Guest Post: Top 5 movies from 2015

Top 5 Bollywood movies from 2015

This article is written by Vinod Kardam, a frequent visitor to Raja Reviews

The year 2015 was empowering for Indian silver screen. Despite the fact that the lamentable “money over-content” came first, groups of onlookers were dealt with to a couple remarkable motion pictures. The greater part of them figured out how to rake in millions, alongside basic recognition.

Here are the main five Bollywood movies of 2015:

PIKU

Piku
Piku

In the event that there is one film which in today’s day and age is really reminiscent of yesteryear’s late Hrishikesh Mukherjee brand of silver screen, it must be Piku. This little, unassuming film figured out how to strike the right harmonies and stunned groups of onlookers and pundits alike. Bengali generalizations are both made utilization of and in addition subverted, yet it is the tender treatment and the cast’s irresistible eagerness that wins over even the most negative of viewers. You can watch the best movies and get great discount using PVR coupons.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Discuss conveying technique to frenzy to deliver fabulousness. Bollywood star Salman Khan is one of those Indian stars who simply should be in the film for it to make millions. Subsequently, things like story, screenplay, and rationale and so on get to be optional. In any case, chief Kabir Khan stepped by throwing the most loved of the masses in a part which is exceptionally not at all like his on-screen persona. Effectively consolidating content with business, Bajrangi Bhaijaan ended up being one of the greatest hits of 2015 furthermore of Salman Khan’s vocation. You can use bookmyshow offer for getting great discounts.

Talvar

Talvar
Talvar

The current year’s sleeper hit, Talvar was a film nobody saw coming. Very little was normal from this calm undertaking which most thought to be a workmanship house motion picture of sorts. The film did not open to pressed theaters (absence of exposure, advancements and a major star cast) yet got over verbal. Coordinated by MeghnaGulzar, the film, in light of genuine occasions around a disputable Indian murder case – 2008 Noida twofold murder case – ended up being a fresh, chilling and drawing in watch which, throughout the following couple of weeks of its discharge, got the thankfulness and honors it merited. [A showstopper scene in the film: The over the-table examination between the two distinctive investigative groups, towards the end of the film. No big surprise, then, that a request to revive the case and free the folks spread like fierce blaze not long after its discharge. Be that as it may, regardless of the lopsidedness, Talvar is a fine class film that works surprisingly better on the off chance that you consider it unadulterated fiction.

Bajirao Mastani

Bajirao Mastani
Bajirao Mastani

A standout amongst the most shocking period dramatizations to have left Bollywood ever – BajiraoMastani is film taking care of business. It’s one of those motion pictures where all the distinctive components of filmmaking – story, music, sets, cinematography, ensembles, course and exhibitions – meet up splendidly to make something essential on screen. An extraordinary notice for Ranveer Singh’s brain inspiring and kickass depiction of the Maratha warrior Bajirao. Keep them coming!

Tamasha

Tamasha
Tamasha

A great many people may feel in an unexpected way, however Tamasha, regardless of its defects, unquestionably merits a spot in this rundown – for the most part due to the intricate way of its subject and the way it has been taken care of by pro chief Imtiaz Ali. Ranbir Kapoor quieted faultfinders with a force pressed execution and greatly required hit. In any case, DeepikaPadukone was the genuine champ here as she figured out how to play a part not that substantial and transform it into one of her most charming characters ever.
