Must Watch
I remember seeing Minnie Driver in Big Night, and becoming an instant fan! I heard they were filming a movie in Boston one day while working in the back bay (near the public gardens) word was minnie driver and robin williams were in it. they might have mentioned others but those were the only two i recognized.
they were filming this scene in the public gardens that day
I was there mostly looking around to see if I could spot minnie driver, and all of a sudden I see Robin Williams walk off the set and come over to a family who had a young child and he knelt down and was talking to the young child. I really wanted to go up to him and tell him what a big fan I was, but I didn’t want to interrupt the moment he appeared to be having. then i spotted minnie driver walking with some man on her arm and I walked toward them to go say hi. As I got close, she turned abruptly and bumped into me and apologized! I said – oh no problem, you’re minnie driver, right? She gave me a big smile and said yes. I just smiled and said oh, I’m a fan, nice to meet you. I looked at the dude on her arm and didn’t know at the time, but realized later it was Matt Damon.
quite a thrill. Months later I remember watching the movie and afterward thinking – ok this movie HAS to be nominated for best screenplay.
One of my favorite movies of all time!
This movie brings back memories of my Boston days!
